SIYSSA Hall of Fame Eligibility & Induction Criteria
SIYSSA Hall of Fame candidates have displayed a commitment to SIYSSA during their career. They competed through senior year and attended almost all competitions. Naturally, only the top scorers are considered for induction. Being inducted into any Hall of Fame, an individual’s achievements are highlighted and it places them in an elite class. A SIYSSA Hall of Fame candidate has shown sustained excellence over the years, as evidenced by recognition with SIYSSA end of year awards and top shoot scores.
The SIYSSA Board of Directors will appoint a Hall of Fame Selection Committee consisting of Board Members who have served as a coach for their respective team for 4 or more years at SIYSSA competitions. The Committee will utilize a very objective set of criteria for consideration of candidates. Shooters will have earned points according to the following system:
• High Overall = 10 points
• JR Top 5 = 8 points
• Lady Top 3 = 7 points
• SJ Top 5 = 6 points
• JR Silver Team = 5 points
• SJ Silver Team = 4 points
• PreSub Top 3 = 3 points
• JRG Champion = 5 points
• Top 3 at Major (200-bird) singles event = 2 points
• Top 3 at regular (100-bird) singles event = 1 point
• Top 3 at Invitational Handicap/Doubles = 1 point
• High Over All for singles, doubles, and handicap at regular shoot = 1 point
In cases where the Committee feels a candidate is very close to achieving acceptable SIYSSA Hall of Fame points, or “on the bubble,” major achievements in trapshooting outside of SIYSSA may be considered. For example, placing in the top 3 overall in an individual national championship youth event, such as SCTP Nationals or AIM Grand, may warrant consideration.
Candidates will be considered during the year following completion of their senior year in high school. Inductions will take place at the following end-of-year SIYSSA awards banquet held annually in June.
